Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Gig Economy Crew ("we", "us") collects when you use geccrew.com or our app, why, and the choices you have. We are a cleaning and organizing company in Chicago, Illinois. We collect only what a job needs.

1. What we collect

• Name, phone, email — to confirm your request, send reminders, and reach you about the job.
• Address, or harbor and slip — so the crew can find the space.
• Notes you give us — gate codes, pets, parking, what you want done.
• Photos you attach to a request, and before-and-after photos our crew takes at your space to document the work.
• Job history — what we did and when, linked to your contact details.
• Payment — if you pay by card, our payment processor (Stripe) handles the card on its own systems. We never see or store card numbers.

What we do not collect: no advertising identifiers, no location tracking, no cookies beyond what the site needs to work, and nothing about you from data brokers.

2. Photos of your space

Photos are taken to document the work and are shown to you and to the crew and office staff working your job. We publish a photo on our website only if you have agreed to it, and never with your address, name, or anything that identifies you or your home. You can ask us to delete any photo of your space at any time.

3. Texts and email

If you tick the box when you request a time, we text you about that request: confirmation, a reminder the day before, "on our way", and a "how did we do?" after the job. These are service messages, not marketing. Reply STOP to any text to stop them; reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Details in our SMS terms. We do not send marketing texts, and we do not share your phone number with anyone for their marketing.

4. Who can see your information

The owner and office staff see every request. Crew members see the jobs assigned to them, including your address and notes, and nothing else. Our service providers (text delivery, email delivery, payment processing, cloud hosting) process data only to provide those services to us. We disclose information if the law requires it. We never sell personal information.

5. Where it lives and how it is protected

Requests and job records are stored on our private server, encrypted in transit, firewalled, with access limited to per-person revocable codes. Photos are stored separately from the database and are never publicly reachable unless you agreed to publish one. Operational logs do not contain your full contact details.

6. How long we keep it

Job history is kept while you are a customer and for up to three years after your last job, for warranty, tax, and insurance reasons. Photos of your space follow the same rule unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

7. Your choices

• Delete my data: email book@geccrew.com from the address on your request. We verify it is you, then erase your contact details and photos from past jobs. Upcoming jobs must be cancelled first.
• Stop texts: reply STOP to any text.
• Correct something: tell us, and we fix it.

8. Children

Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

9. Changes

Updates are posted here with a new date. If a change matters, we tell active customers by email or text.
